Ruben Loftus-Cheek claps back at Chelsea fans and remind everyone of his value; Here is what he said.
We understand that Kovacic is very good and he will be a temtation for every coach not to play him and rather choose Loftus Cheek, but if you take the CV off the table and the name off the shirt, he’s been poor for at least a year now.
Many Chelsea fans were keen to see Ruben Loftus-Cheek start instead of him today, but instead Frank Lampard went with Kovacic.
It didn’t last long – after 40 minutes the Croatian picked up what looked like a calf injury which forced him off. And when Ruben came on to replace him he did well right away.
It was Lotus-Cheek’s drive forward with the ball in the second half which set up Raheem Sterling’s goal, and as ever he was a dangerous presence in midfield, shielding the back four and moving the ball forward at his feet when he had a chance.
Whether Kovacic is out or not, RLC has earned a start in the games to come.
