Pochettino tells Broja the demands to start playing more for Chelsea

Mauricio Pochettino has told Armando Broja he needs to start ‘behaving normally’ in order to start playing more for Chelsea.

Broja has made 12 appearances for the Blues this season, but he only started a couple of them due to the presence of Nicolas Jackson.

The 22-year-old has also scored a goal for Chelsea all season, but he could now be in line for a start when Chelsea host Preston North End in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.

Askes about the possibility of the Albanian being involved against Preston, Poch said at a press conference on Friday (via chelseafc.com): “It is a possibility for Armando to play.

“Armando is going to have the possibility to be maybe more involved because he is one of our main strikers and it is a good opportunity for him to perform and be relaxed.

“We really trust in him, he has amazing potential and quality. Now he needs to forget his injury for the last year and start to behave normally.”

Broja appears to be playing with a lot more caution since he returned from a nine-month ACL injury earlier this season. And while that is understandable, like Poch said, he needs to put himself more into games, as that could be the key to unlocking his full potential for the Blues.
