Joe Cole Praises Kai Havertz for “grabbing the ball” for penalty retake; Here is everything he said.
After the first penalty was missed, Kai Havertz rushed to the ball and took it by his own hands to retake the penalty and he was praised for it.
This is a feat not many players could attempt but then not every player is Kai Havertz and Joe Co0le noticed this and praised the man for his heroic deeds.
Watching from the BT Sport studio, Joe Cole the way that the forward had been so confident in taking the ball from various teammates who were trying their luck at claiming the second effort:
“He has got a great habit Kai, in big moments, we’ve seen him score the winning goal in the Champions League.
“We watched, we had a great view from the studio and there was a little melee about who was going to take it.
“I think Raheem [Sterling] was there, Reece was there and [Havertz] grabbed it with real meaning and I thought, ‘Yeah, he’s going to put this away’ – but to do the exact same technique was fantastic.”
In the future we’d prefer him to score the first effort – but if you’re going to miss and retake, this was the way to do it.
