Co-owner of La Liga club delivers update on transfer of La Liga star to Chelsea
Girona co-owner Pere Guardiola has quashed speculation that Chelsea are set to sign Girona star Artem Dovbyk this month.
The Ukrainian striker has hit 12 goals this season as Girona challenge with Real Madrid for the La Liga title.
“There are no offers,” he told Revelo. “Rumours, all of them. We don’t have offers for anyone.
“Not from Barcelona for Aleix, not from Chelsea for Dovbyk, for anyone.
“And we have no intention of selling to anyone either. The thing is that journalists really like the transfer window.
“The truth is that we have a good squad. Obviously it’s normal that things will happen at the end [of the window], but people have noticed us because we are doing things well.”
Chelsea have made signing a striker a priority this January but Guardiola doesn’t expect to lose his striker to Chelsea.
Guardiola added: “What we want is for nothing to happen or minimal to happen in January.”
