Fabrizio Romano gives clarifying update on Osimhen joining EPL side Chelsea this summer; Here is his verdict.
Just in any case you think that the race for Osimhen is over then you might think again as Chelsea is really closing in on the signing of the striker and more serious than ever before.
Although there are other many clubs which are also looking to get the signature of the Nigerian man, here is where Chelsea are right now in the chase.
Rumours that Manchester United are leading the race to sign him were circulating yesterday, but transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says those stories are just far too premature right now.
Writing in his exclusive Daily Briefing for CaughtOffside, Romano says the race for Osimhen remains open, with nothing yet decided on the Nigeria international, even his asking price.
Chelsea are certainly going to be one of the clubs watching the situation at the very least, and Romano saying the race is still open at this stage gives them hope even though they will not have Champions League football to offer the star striker.
“I’ve been asked again about Victor Osimhen following further rumours, but as I keep saying since January, nothing will be decided now for Osimhen,” Romano said.
“It’s not an April deal, probably not even May. There’s not even a price tag decided at this stage.
“It’s been claimed that Manchester United are in pole position and that Chelsea are out of the running, but nothing is decided yet and the race is absolutely open.”
