Chelsea Vs Real Madrid; Kai Havertz benched again against Real Madrid by Lampard and here is why.
Tonight’s clash with Real Madrid has seen a couple of changes to the team that lost to Wolves at the weekend, and it’s Kai Havertz who has been one of the unlucky players.
Well, we say unlucky, he was pretty poor on Saturday and just doesn’t look like scoring at the moment, despite a little spurt last month.
Frank Lampard gave him so many starts in his first spell as manager and in the end Havertz just didn’t do enough to keep his place. It seems like the German is going to pick up where he left off with Lampard, not trusted because he’s simply not clinical enough in front of goal.
There is always room to recover, but unlike with a coach who comes in and gives him a clean slate, Lampard has already had his fill it seems, and Havertz is going to have to prove the interim coach wrong if he wants more chances before the end of the season.
