Chelsea top target Declan Rice is not a world class player according to Graeme Souness; Full Statement.
Declan Rice is not the person who he thinks he is and he is not in the level he think he is in and Graeme Souness have made this very clear for the player.
Chelsea have been Looking very seriously to get Declan Rice to join the Blues by the Summer and he is a very big target too for Arsenal but he is not all that big as the media have hyped him.
Rice, 24, has made more than 200 appearances for West Ham and has played 40 games for England.
Top Premier League sides such as Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in signing the West Ham United star but Souness believes the player needs to do more to justify those links and ‘challenge himself’ to improve.
West Ham is asking for at least £100m for the midfielder, which would make him the most expensive English player in history.
“Rice still had much to prove in certain areas of his game to be regarded as a really top-class central midfield player,” Souness told the Daily Mail.
“And he needs to chip in with more goals. He has scored twice in the Premier League this season in 26 games and it’s not enough.
“But he needs to aim for the stars. This is just my opinion.
“But I think he should ask himself, ‘How do I become a truly world-class player?”
