Barcelona is highly interested in a Spanish winger with a €58 million release clause.

Barcelona finds their perfect winger

Barcelona holds a strong admiration for Nico Williams of Athletic Club and is determined to bring the winger to Catalonia. According to Romano, Williams’ active release clause stands at €58 million. However, Barcelona first needs to resolve ongoing financial uncertainties with Financial Fair Play before pursuing the talented 21-year-old Spanish winger.

Romano also disclosed that Barcelona faces significant competition in their pursuit of Williams. Premier League clubs have already expressed interest in the younger Williams brother, and Bayern Munich has previously shown interest in the player, as reported by the Italian journalist. The stable financial positions of these clubs pose a challenge for Barcelona.

Additionally, Romano noted that while Athletic Club may be confident about retaining Williams, the existence of the release clause complicates matters. It now rests on Barcelona or any other interested club to activate the clause and initiate direct negotiations if they intend to secure the player.
