Kai Havertz admits the pressure is too much on him; People thought I was Messi but I am definitely not and here is why.

Kai Havertz is giving a reality check to people who confuse him with one of the greatest of all times Lionel Messi and he said that before he joined Chelsea, Chelsea fans thought he was Messi but he is sorry to disappoint them that he is not.

Kai was only about 20-21 when he joined Chelsea and this has made people have an overly expectations for him to perform in the same level as Messi but he has proven that yes he is not Messi and he has also come out to say it to that same effect.

The Germany international is in his third season with the Blues, having joined for €80m from Bayer Leverkusen.

Havertz told the Guardian: “I don’t understand how they can be paid so much money for a player, but in football that’s normal.

“This brings a lot of pressure; people thought I was Messi, I was only 20-21.

“They just see the price your club paid and you have to play great right from the start. Day one. You finally feel that pressure.”
